British Council on Thursday launched two state of the art classrooms for language learners and a young learners’ zone at English language centre in the British Council Library on Mount Road here.

CHENNAI: Bringing in the latest collection of English language learning tools and teaching resources, British Council on Thursday launched two state of the art classrooms for language learners and a young learners’ zone at English language centre in the British Council Library on Mount Road here.
The classrooms will involve heightened online learning skills, including exposure of social media to students.

So far, nearly 40,000 people from different fields have been trained by the council since the language centre was started in 2009.
Besides the upgrading of the library with new books and extensive number of DVDs, the young learners zone will focus on expansion of online collections for children, the brand new additions being Comicplus, where a wide range of comics can be accessed or downloaded, and atomic learning, an online training portal where hundreds of short videos of the most popular software applications.
